Rie Saito

I’m a dedicated Japanese language tutor with extensive experience teaching both children and adults in London. I completed the Foreign Language Teacher Training Course at the EJEF Study Centre in 2017–2018, and subsequently worked as a tutor for British employees at Marubeni, Mitsui and Sumitomo between 2018–2020. I am currently a tutor at the London School of English and a teacher at Chelsea Kodomo no Hiroba.

In addition to my institutional teaching roles, I have been working as a private tutor for several years, teaching learners from complete beginners through to advanced students aiming for JLPT N1. I currently teach 12 students privately, focusing on building confidence in speaking, grammar and comprehension through personalised lesson plans.

My teaching approach combines structured grammar instruction, practical conversation practice and custom learning materials tailored to each learner’s goals, pace and interests. I also support Japanese heritage learners and children who are strengthening their bilingual skills in a fun and encouraging environment.

I offer lessons online or in-person (South West London), with flexible scheduling to suit learners at all levels. Optional introductory 30-minute trial lessons are available for new students who would like to experience my teaching style before committing to regular sessions.
